Insect Eating Garden

Flies, Beware!

This incredibly organic insect killercomes from the good people at Gifts That Bloom.

What a great idea! I was amazed too!

I saw this for the first time when I visited friends who own a commercial kitchen. They cannot use pesticides inside, and since they live on a farm they have flies everywhere and a few get into the kitchen. Squashing them is out of the question, for obvious reasons, so what you are seeing here is their answer to fly control.

They have several of these Venus Flytraps located around the kitchen. The nectar from inside the plant attracts the flies and also highlights the plant in the evening. In this way, both day and night, flies are drawn to and then devoured by these voracious little Flytraps! The Complete Garden Kit comes with seeds, soil enriched with nutrients and a container for the plant. All you have to do is add water and sunlight!

When I found the Insect-Eating Garden in the MGC store, I knew I had to tell you about it. Nothing can be a better or more enviro-friendly insect eater than a plant!
