As part of a new Save The Children campaign, Ben Stiller, Willem Dafoe, Isabella Rossellini and Terrence Howard are appearing in print ads for silver rings designed by Bulgari jewelry. Proceeds from the sales of the rings go toward the Rewrite the Future campaign to help improve education for children in war zones and conflicted areas around the world.
Jamie Foxx
In conjunction with the promotion of his new movie, The Soloist, Jamie Foxx is supporting VH1’s Save The Music campaign. At VH1 Save The Music, Jamie shares his thoughts on what music means to him. For every person who goes to the website and adds their thoughts to his, Dreamworks and Universal Studios will make a donation to the Save The Music Foundation in support of music programs in schools all across the nation.
Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooke Shields, Debra Messing, Marcia Cross and Angie Harmon
To help find a cure for a devastating skin disease, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooke Shields, Debra Messing, Marcia Cross, Angie Harmon and others are designing prints for limited edition designs of “Mommy and Me” clothes for both girls and boys. Proceeds raised from the sale of these designs through the Lily Pulitzer Colorful Cause: Celebrity Designers Program will go to the EB Medical Research Foundation to help in the fight against Epidermolysis Bullosa.
Jason Alexander
Taking advantage of the popularity of Texas Hold-Em Poker, Jason Alexander is hosting a tournament at the Hollywood Park Casino on May 9. All of the proceeds will benefit the 1736 Family Crisis Center, the largest domestic violence agency in Los Angeles.
Hayden Panettiere, Alec Baldwin and Corbin Bleu
Sponsored by PayPal, Smack Down for Charity gave celebrities 10 days to see who could raise money for their charity of choice. This charitable competition was promoted via social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. From Hayden Panettiere’s Save The Whales Again to Alec Baldwin’s Actors Fund of America, nine celebrities raise thousands of dollars. Corbin Bleu was the winner, raising the most money for Stand Up To Cancer.
Ashton Kutcher
Making the most of his popularity on Twitter, some of Ashton Kutcher’s recent tweets asked those who are following him to support World Malaria Day on April 25, noting that just $10 can help save a life.
