365 Penguins

A big book about a lot of Penguins!

Science, math, ecology and penguins...what could make a better children's book than this?

I’m not sure, because I'm an adult, but I enjoyed it as well!

365 Penguins is a really big book, 16 by 12 overall, and the perfect fit to house 365 penguins inside. And that’s what this book is all about. Narrated from the perspective of a little boy, the book tells the story of a family who is anonymously sent one penguin a day for 365 days. As the packages pile up, the family is forced to ask: what the heck do you do with all of these penguins? The conclusion of the story teaches the readers an important lesson about global warming and its effect on animals of the Arctic - and a little surprise at the end of the story!

The book is illustrated very well, and I am sure kids of all ages will love to read and participate into what must be done and where to keep the penguins.

Just when you might think a book about trying to house hundreds of penguins might get a little tedious, here comes Chilly, the penguin with the blue feet! He was my personal favorite, and I'm sure he was for many children, too. I spent every new page turn trying to find where Chilly was hiding amongst all those other penguins, just like a Where's Waldo book.

The book ends with an ecological message which brings a little dose of reality to the story, and, while I won’t spoil the rest of the ending, I assure you 365 Penguins is a very fun book that both you and your kids will delight in!
